i think there may be an over reliance on specific materials when it comes to this, i have noticed something similar in some of your other work but while somewhat noticeable in still shots like your renders i feel this is a much more pressing issue when it comes to animation as in my opinion it makes the environments and characters look very similar from one and other, i think your compositing and post processing help to mitigate this issue by injecting some variation but i feel your work could benefit from skills such as texture painting or a deeper understanding of procedurals and the nodes or tools that make them as well of some knowledge on pbr image texture workflow.

there are some great resources on youtube you could watch but if theres a course i would recommend is this 74 part series by sam bowman

or alternatively if you need a quick intro the course by default cube

ok i'll take a look at that, i've wanted to delve more into procedural materials. tho it's partially laziness that i've stuck with the same material, i also really like how it looks but you're right in that i should try to look into this more and see what else would work well with my characters. Thanks for the review.

this could work as an intro or transition of sorts, and if that's the goal i think it fills that role pretty well although i feel there could be more variation of movement or effects in this. either way keep it up i think you maybe onto something.

TheCrazedSide responds:

thanks, glad ya like, i'll keep that in mind, it could use a bit more movement to go with the music. and yeah, it's pretty much to transition the player from one character to the next [in this case a robot known as Soul Machine]

there come times that talking to friends gets difficult because i myself don't know how to respond to them

IsometricPixel responds:

I get that all too well. Sometimes the right words aren't really words at all, it's just letting the person know you're listening and that you're there for them.

good news!! i learned blender and it only took a year, now i need to learn how to draw and i'll be good. if you like what i do, I'm open to commissions so hit me up if you'd like something done.
